“A football player.” That was my answer as a child when people asked me what I wanted to be when I became an adult.
I’m not a football player. I failed to achieve the biggest dream of my life.
That was the thing I wanted the most in my life. And it still is. It was not necessary to be a big football star, to earn millions and to win a World Cup. …
The Pros and Cons of This Famous Routine
It’s all Medium’s fault.
After I joined this amazing platform, I’ve started to read a lot of articles in which people would talk about their journal habits.
Most of them (or all of them) said it had helped them. How? To think better, to take better decisions, to relax, to have a conversation with themselves, to plan the next day or just to keep a record of their lives.
These experiences made me want to start my own journal. I didn’t know exactly what my goal was, but I was sure I…
So Far, Is It Worth The Effort?
Yes, I’ve earned money writing on Medium.
I thought that writing an article, publishing it online and getting paid because people liked it was just a dream. But it’s not a dream anymore, it’s real.
Please don’t think I’ve made millions of dollars on Medium. The competition is high and it takes time for people to get to know you and for you to get to know people. Also, I might not be a good writer. I’m still trying.
I’ve only made enough money to go for dinner twice. Or three times if…
Why This Platform Should Expand Its Boundaries
More people are born speaking Spanish than English.
It is true, though, that more people speak English.
But let’s go through same stats together…
So, what does all this tell us…
Have you ever felt like doing nothing? So have I.
But let’s analyse that phrase most of us use quite often:
“I feel like doing nothing”
I’m not a grammar expert, but I can notice something peculiar in that sentence. “Doing nothing” is the goal. “Doing nothing” is what we want to do.
For example, when you feel like dancing, you want to dance. Or when you feel like watching a movie, that’s what you want to do. The same concept applies to this sentence. You feel like doing nothing, you want to do nothing.
But let me tell you…
What Would You Do If You Didn’t Have To Work?
I don’t know every single person in this world, but I’m quite sure the majority would like to have a passive income. The higher, the better. Earning money while doing nothing, who doesn’t want that?
Most of us want to get rid of their 9-to-5 job and have an easier life. That doesn’t mean people don’t want to work, that means people don’t want to depend on someone else, and that they want to work when they want, where they want and the way the want.
You are one of…
Use your phone as a thermometer before going to bed
There’s no such thing as a thermometer for happiness.
There’s not an objective way to measure it. And even further, we won’t always agree on what happiness is.
Some people say that they can tell they’re happy because they feel time flies. After a couple of hours, they realise they’ve been having such a good time and they can’t believe how quick the clock turned.
There’re are hundreds of ways people use to determine whether they’ve had a good day or not.
After all these years, I’ve came up with…
The moral debate will never end
Actually, this story started with a lie. My apologies.
I’ve volunteered only once. That was last year at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. But next year (fingers crossed) I’m going to do it again at the UEFA Eurocup, in London.
The discussions with myself have invaded my mind for months now. I know I love it, but at the same time I know I shouldn’t be giving my time and my effort for free (or for a meal) to a company that is making millions of dollars.
Will my decision change…
Let your town enchant you once again
It was a normal Tuesday for me. I’ve received a message from someone on Couchsurfing (if you don’t know that platform, you should). They said they wanted to hang out. I said yes.
Naturally, they wanted to see the most iconic parts of the city. I live in London, so we decided to walk by the Thames. It was about 8 pm, cloudy and kind of dark, and we were getting closer to the London Eye and the Big Ben.
That’s all I could say while that enormous round shape invaded my…
And why dead times are valuable
Right now I’m travelling by train.
What does that mean? Well, that I’ve got a device I can write with, in this case, my laptop (I’ve also got my phone but I hate typing on it).
What else does that mean? You’re reading this on Medium, so I’m a frequent writer in this platform.
Journey + Medium = Travel for free. You see where I’m going, right?
My journey is one hour long, so I’ve got enough time to come up with a nice story, turn it into text, publish it on Medium and…
